nice game! i found it v fun.

Completed the game with every character.

IMO Melody Maestro is the weakest - had to get quite lucky to get fast cards&trinkets

Overall fun game, thanks guys!

What's the point of the game if you don't play ?

(+5)(-2)

strategy

(+1)(-7)

But if we don't do anything, where's the strategy ?

selection

Making strategic choices is not the same as making tactical choices.

In many games, you make both strategic as well as tactical choices.

For example, in a game like Warcraft, you define both the strategy (what types of units you will play, where the groups of units go) as well as tactical (what individual units do during a battle, flanking maneuvers, etc.)

In games like this, you take the role solely of a strategist. You guide the overarching strategy of the game, but an actor (in this case a computer program) takes over the tactical play; it makes the moment-to-moment decisions.

This game is awesome! Is a great auto battler with a unique disco dancing style! I love it!

I love this game so much!!! My favorite is Carnival Carry, but all of them are super cool and interesting, all the designs are so well thought out, and the MUSIC IS SO COOL!!! SUCH AN AMAZING SOUNDTRACK <3

(+1)

The fact that Carnival Carry is forever doomed to be stuck giving enemies a double cast is hilarious to me. 5/5

This is really fun, well done! :-)

When slay the spire 2?

(+3)

could you release the source code so that people can mod the game?

(-1)

feels like another FNF XD

Whenever I try to play the game, specifically as Country Carl, the game freezes. Whenever its Carl's move, my Carl or the NPC, it always plays the spinning circle of death and then the game becomes unplayable. I am using the MAC version.

👍

I made a 6:9 boxart for use with Playnite. I have no idea if itch will reduce the quality on this. Also I'm not an artist, I just did my best.

(-3)

Here's our coverage of this version - looking forward to the full release!!!

my understanding was this was a 1 off game jam game to familiarize with the new engine rather than the new game they mentioned

(+3)

If you need help with the translation of the game to spanish im happy to help

He's just too sick

little update lol

easiest dancer to win with imo

tied with this guy maybe

Really cool game! Everything is so polished!

I was initially quite frustrated by the fact it played automatically, but actually, it just focuses the gameplay on the deckbuiling aspect of card games (and it's great!)

I'm a big fan of the Weaver's stalling strategies and the super aggressive Henry (managed to 1 turn kill every opponent at the end). It's really nice that every win condition can come up in a clash (except maybe for decking out).

Good job team!

I love the soundtrack. Would like to contribute to it if you need any more music.

Is there somewhere we can listen to the soundtrack? I love it so much!

I got you: https://grahmnesbitt.bandcamp.com/album/dancing-duelists-ost

Thanks! Baroque Brawl is probably my favorite of the bunch, excellent work!

This game was super fun and has tons of replay value!

My only critiques are that you may go up against the same opponents back to back or multiple times. I also managed to get KO'd in 1-3 turns a few times, so maybe there's some balance work to be done? Or I might just suck (the trash meta will work one day!)

Anyway, keep up the good work. I hope this concept gets expanded on in the future.

(+1)

Will there be gamepad support in future update?

The game window doesnt fit my screen On start, cant fullscreen with F11. and the options arent accessible.

I cant play. Occurs on Windows 10

(+1)

the game just freezes in the loading screen since i got blue screen while the game was open(didnt get the blue screen because of it)

i reinstalled and run ccleaner already.

does someone know what else i can do?

bugs: 1. as the grooving oracle, if I trash an enemy's card, I don't heal even though the description is "When a card is trashed". 2. if I fight against the carnival carry, my first card is also played twice.

(+2)

Could we pleease get those fixed? I know, the game is free and Mega Crit doesn't owe us anything, but this game is so fun and I would play it much more if those bugs were fixed :)

(1 edit) (+1)

Do you have a list of what cards are affected by Super Hot Fire? It's not clearly noted on the cards and I can't seem to figure out what, if any, gets boosted

Also my favorite strat is Rollerblade country carl + asteroid. It even breaks through butter magic

I think Super Hot Fire only affects Fire Blast (1 damage x3), maybe also Scorching Sylph's Fiery Attitude.

Ran out of cards, my very last card to get trashed was midnight oil. Pain

This is such a fun game, I wish there was some sort of victory screen when you win, though.

(3 edits) (+1)(-1)

The game seems fun, but most screens run at like 10 fps for me (linux user, but on Wine it's the same)

Specifically it seems like cards being on the screen drops the frames

EDIT: Played some in spite of the framerate. This game desperately needs a deck thinning mechanic

Had a lot of fun playing this little game. Can't wait for your next game.
Also, Disco Dan is broken af

Hi, ive recently started to study game dev with godot, and i was wondering if you could release this as an open source.
i would love to see the work flow of a team such as mega crit! (big slay the spire fan obv)

i know its a lot to ask, but it doesnt hurt to do so :)

(-2)

I am Japanese.

I am not good at English, but I enjoyed the game enough.

I am not satisfied with too many differences in strength between characters, but I think this is an area that could be made very well by simply adjusting the numbers.

I am most interested to see if this game could be summarized as a single player game like "Slay the Spire" or a competitive game like "Backpack Battle".

Haha, it's made by the devs of slay the spire ^_^

BUG: When playing Groove Oracle and you trash opponents cards, they get the heals instead of you. (at least with the trash 3 card)

(+2)

I love the game, just wanted to share that I got stuck in an infinite loop where the opponent's deck would cycle forever without dealing any damage, gaining any HP or trashing any card.

Loop is Adrenaline - Dizzy x 2 - Spin - Dizzy - Spin - Swirl Surge. I have Stoic effect.

(+1)

Option to toggle fullscreen/windowed would be nice (the game seems stuck in windowed mode but the window is so big it gets a tiny bit cut off by the taskbar at the bottom of my screen,)
And also the first ever attack you perform freezes the game for a few seconds (presumably to load all the effects and animations)

Otherwise very lovely and neat

(+1)

Was alright!

Main game design issues imo are, the game is too symmetrical (i think if youre designing a solo game, you should do something asymmetrical, only do symmetrical if you're planning on a PvP or smth). Like there's little thought over designing your deck to counter certain strats/who are you going to fight next / and the reason for this is because there's too many possibilities in the enemy builds that it's not worth thinking over.

Also you cant remove cards from your deck which is annoying for consistency and not very deck buildy like (Maybe instead add 2 card and remove 1 after every Clash?)

Some cards quickly scale and some others quickly becomes useless (like it's impossible to deck out the opponent lol), or others quite strong (trash 2 to play 2).

(-2)

Bug(?): Melody Miestro goes into negative Strength

(+2)

I can't figure out how I'm supposed to play this character, they feel very RNG heavy. Otherwise the game is a lot of fun.

(+2)

You need to prioritize landing as many hits as you can in the first few turns, then finishing it off with some unblockable irreducible damage. Take as many spins, fire strikes, Adrenaline, and rollerblades relics as you can for the first part, look for Planned Moves, Asteroids, Mirrors, dancing shoes relics, and (in a pinch) corset relics. Failing that look for big attack cards, Moonwalks, and Muscle Shirt relics.

Moreover, even if you build correctly you can be easily shut down by opponent playing Butter Magic or Mirror. Don't worry, it's a normal part of playing this hero.

And no, strength going negative is an intended behaviour, just like in Slay the Spire.

I did finally end up winning with something similar to this last night and getting lucky with my opponents. Thank you for sharing this intuition! It's really good advice.

(+2)

I had a lot of fun with this! Would love to see a bit of keyboard support. Even the ability to advance the turn with the spacebar would be nice.

Finally got to sink my teeth into this game and adore it. No bugs on my end! (MacBook Pro M1 Max, Mac OS X 14.0 Sonoma)
Only suggestion would be to offer us the chance to trash a card instead of getting a trinket. I felt a little loss of control when some cards kept clogging my deck.

Keep up the great work!!

(+9)

I think Carnival Carry's item might be bugged, and apply to both you and your opponent

For sure
