I love that you guys are just going to make awesome games that Unity COULD have been a part of if they weren't greedy idiots!

A very cool game idea! It's not too big but pretty fun to play for a bit.
I don't know if you're planning to patch this in some way, but in case you are, there are some bug reports:
1)Oracle's passive heals the opponent if Oracle's ability trashes the opponent's deck. Doesn't seem like the intended behaviour and also turns off an alternative build.

2) Shock doesn't seem to work. I applied it to the enemy Carnival Carry on round 1, but they still pulled their entire combination of cards after copying Adrenaline.

Shock does work at times. I've seen it work exactly once against the dancer with the deck sort power. Didn't work the very next time in that same clash, nor any other time, but it did work once.

The Claw is The Law.

Linux build is crashing with segmentation fault. Running on Nobara (fedora) 37

could be something dumb I'm doing tho

Linux version works for me.

Tested on both Nvidia and AMD gpus.

Very fun neat game! Excited to see what you guys have planned with the new engine <3

I love this game :)

Very exciting new game! I am an avid fan of Slay the Spire from China, and I also hope to bring this new game to Chinese players. I am willing to make text translations for this game for free. If you are interested, please contact me

I'm having a problem when I have a second monitor plugged in with a different resolution to my laptop - the game is stuck at a resolution which makes it impossible to play (image attached). Works completely fine when I unplug the second monitor though!

oh no! The game opens at 1080p right now. However, the window is resizable. Hopefully this can help out

That was fun! It's really interesting to have different win conditions to aim for.
The presentation is excellent, oozing with style, very impressive artwork. I love how the drawings are jumping-off a lot of the cards, it's a nice touch.
Groovey music, the dancing animations make me want to bop my head along to the beat too.

Thanks for this, good luck moving your project to Godot and I look forward to hearing more about it in the future!

I love the spritework in this one, you guys are awesome. Also the score is super fun, reminds me of Dicey Dungeons for some reason. Hope you'll work with Grahm Nesbitt in the future

Thanks for ur game made with Godot.

Updated the windows version so the zip file name is in parity with the others + fix for momentum and boom boxer trinket tip being wrong. (1 line fixes only I swear!)

Anyone have luck running the mac build? I get a generic  error message: "The application “Dancing Duelists.app” can’t be opened." I'm on an M1 MacBook Pro if that matters.

Edit: Ctrl+click open to override security settings is not working.  I also tried toggling on Rosetta, no luck with that either.

Here's a screenshot:

Likewise. On an older Macbook, and getting an error that the file is damaged.

Not sure, I'm also on a mac and mine opened fine. I would check your security settings. Make sure it isn't being blocked from coming from an uncommon developer.

Yeah we haven't done the code signing that Apple requires as it's just a jam project. When WebGL is added to Godot 4 it'll be more friction free for jam games on Godot. For more serious projects we'll do the code signing though (just assuming that this is the problem, apologies if this isn't the reason for the issue)
UPDATE: Looks like the mac one doesn't support intel macs >:(. That makes sense now that I think about it, will have to look into it

Thanks for the response. I can confirm it's not my security settings, I tried overriding them and it didn't change anything. (See screenshot in my edit above.)

I am on an M1 with Apple Silicon so possibly that's related?

(+1)

If you locate the app in Finder and then ctrl click it, select open, you then get an option to override the security settings and just open it

Just had a wicked run with Boom Boxer ;)

Another fantastic job by MegaCrit! Pulling off such a stellar title in 3 weeks is beyond impressive, hats off!

(+2)

this is actually awesome and full of charm. I'm usually the last person to say this but I can imagine pvp being a lot of fun too.

(+4)

Looks fun! Any reason for no Linux or Mac builds? I've found cross-platform exports to be incredibly quick and easy with Godot.

(+5)

Whoops! We will work on those!

(+4)

Amazing game! I did find two bugs, Momentum trashes only Spins instead of non-Spins. Also Boom Boxer starts with 2 Vigor, while it is suppose to start with 3

(+3)

Oh good catches!

(+2)

Niceeee! C# or GDScript?

(+3)

C#! Worked like a charm :)

(+3)

Just abused Jazzy Jasper with double knee pads for an easy win haha :) Lots of good things here, it is basically a mix between an auto battler and a deck builder.

Did you draw inspiration from a game called Yi Xian by any chance?

Can't wait for your new game!

(+3)

I actually tried out some Yi Xian so maybe that was in the back of my mind!

(+2)

This is quite fun!
The character design is awesome.
